She replied, "Actually, it's not an Acura, it's a Honda, but they're the same thing as a Acura." So, I look up a 2003 Honda, and ask her what model Honda she has. She replies, "It's not really a Honda, it's a Hyundai, but they sound similar. So, I back up and look up a trailer hitch for a Hyundai, and I ask her what model Hyundai she has. This time she replies, "I think I would rather have a roof top carrier instead of a trailer hitch." "

DTL: It's a great day here at Chick-fil-A! How can I help you?
CL: Hi. I have a coupon for chick-n-minis.
DTL: I'm sorry ma'am. That's a breakfast item.
CL: It says I have to buy a sweet tea with it.

When to Punch A customer

AssHat writes "I saw this once from about 10ft away and it was awesome.
I had a coworker in Rhode Island named Scott. Scott was white 5'7 165 pounds of kitty fluff whom spoke in honeyed southern tones. A nice guy, never did anything mean to anyone. Loved his wife dearly, liked to drink beer and watch wrestling, was very patient and kind to the children in store. Did retail in the spaces while going to school to become a teacher. A KINDERGARTEN TEACHER!
Scott stocked my "High Theft" Electronics and occasionaly directed customers on the floor. Customer walks up to him and asks him for help, he pages another associate over the radio to watch his cart a minute and sells a digital camera.
Customer goes and checks out and leaves only to come back in 5 minutes. goes immediatley to Scott and starts reaming him for selling him a digital camera instead of a camcorder. Scott's face is completly neutral, while he listened.

Fired for giving good service

Anonymous writes "So, I was a manager at OfficeMax in Houson, TX. First of all, the district manager in that area is a Nazi bitch. She hires her firends, literally, pays them well, and lets them get away with just about anything that's unethical but legal as far as running a business goes. Needless to say, I wasn't on that list of her friends. So, when I came to Houston as a transfer, I had a bone-head store manager who I was teaching all things OMax to but he was collecting the salary. I called HR on him a few times for discussing inappopriate things and breaking policy. Nothing happened because he was the DM's friend.
So, to make this short and sweet, I got my review and it sucked. It was written by the manager who I called HR on, and approved by the DM, his friend. Because of this, I didn't get my bonus. I worked my ass off for that bonus, and the DM verbally said it was coming. When I called payroll, they had no record of it ever being issued. The DM never responded to my emails regarding it.
The story gets better b/c the very next day, I was fired for discounting a laptop. OfficeMax won't do that b/c there's no profit on them, but an associate had told a customer it was 20% off since it was the last one and a display, so I honored it. When I called HR about the payout that never came, they said I was treated "fairly" and no bonus was coming.
So, now I'm broke, jobless, and terminated....I've requested my employee file, which they can't find. I've also requested the decision from corporate which says they feel I was treated "fairly." I'd definitely not work there again, and I'd love to take legal action for the money that they owe me."

Why must people call the grocery store?
| Posted by Alucard on Wednesday, June 25 @ 22:15:56 EDT (245 reads)
Anonymous writes "Okay so I work at the customer service desk in a grocery store, and it was a very busy day. I have a very long line of about 10 people -for our store, thats long- and the phone rings. I answer and its an elderly guy asking if we have a particular type and brand of cigar. So I tell him "Could you please hold while I go check?" I put him on hold and I have about two more people in the line. So I go check to see if there are any cigars in the back room with a special tagged saved for customers, I don't see any so I answer the phone before serving the other two people because I like to do things in order and heres the next conversation: Me:Sir, I've checked and there weren't any in t..[he back] -thats where he cut me off and said: Him: How are you gonna check for my cigars if you didn't ask me what brand? Me: Welll what brand would you like? Him:I want you to go behind that counter and look for a brown box of cigars Me:Okay will do Him:Just hold on and listen!... Its the cigars next to those so I go serve my other two customers and its about 5 mins later and I check and didn't see any so I answer the phone and here is the next convo Me:Sir I didn't see any behind the counter Him:Do you work in the meat dept? Me: No HIM: Do you work in produce? Me:No Him: WELL I CAN'T BELIEVE IT TOOK YOU THAT LONG TO LOOK ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THAT COUNTER Me: I'm sorry for the inconvienence Him: How long have you been working here? me: Almost 2 years Him: Well you need a new profession because you don't know what your doing. Hell, I don't even believe you know what your talking about I'm coming up there About 5 minutes later the guy shows up in the store and DID NOT get his cigars because they werent in as I told him over the phone, yet he made a complaint. -_- Gotta love customers right?!?"

No room for good managers and workers?

Anonymous writes "Heya. Longtime lurker here, decided to contribute a few choice bits.
First, let us name the people involved (names of course are changed to not add even more ridicule to the guilty).
Marcy = a good friend of mine, with a bachelor's degree in administration, and specialization courses in management of small businesses. Her experience of less than a month managing FancySmallClothingStoreAtTheMall taught her a lot about integrity and the value of acting on your beliefs.
Linda = the kind, helpful and dedicated retail worker candidate at FancySmallClothingStoreAtTheMall.
MoronicBitch = the moronic owner of FancySmallClothingStore.
Lazyass1 = a lazy, dumb retail worker candidate at FancySmallClothingStoreAtTheMall. You, the kind you want to strangle for being a lazy ass.
Lazyass2 = see Lazyass1, add 'wants to be a cashier, but can not do math even with a calculator'.
Notlazy1 = a good, resposible retail worker candidate.
Notlazy2 = see NotLazy2

People Who Shop Suck
| Posted by Alucard on Monday, June 23 @ 00:04:18 EDT (257 reads)
Anonymous writes "So I work at a national home goods retail chain. And you never know how rude and stupid people are until you work in retail. Anyway so the other day it started to rain pretty hard (I live in GA) out of nowhere and the register system lost the connection so we had to call in everything for a couple of minutes. Any who the customer that I was checking out decided that she was gonna throw a fit and wanted me to hurry up. I called in her check and the system is totally automated now so you have to read and spell out the names of the people and all that crap on the check so after a couple of minutes she got angry because it started to rain and she didn't want to walk in the rain. Anyway she then wanted to pay by credit card but by that time the system had come back up so it went through. Then she kept bitching about walking in the rain and how it took too long and how it was her daughters birthday (who cares, my friken car windows were open during the 15 minute deluge!!!!). And after that she asks me if we have umbrellas, I point her in the direction and then she says..."Do I have to buy them? You don't have umbrellas that I can use?" By this time the customer has pretty much gotten on my nerves severely and in my best calm and customer friendly voice I tell her no. She then proceeds to complain about that.
What the heck??? This kind of think happens about 20 times a day in my job. I don't understand why people feel like you have to shit and wipe their asses for them because they are too good to do it themselves. It doesn't help that the company that I work for makes you kiss ass with NO exception. If somebody it completely and totally out of order (say for example if a customer gets upset and freaking spits on you, the customer will probably get a $50 gift card in the mail for THEIR inconvenience). Is is just me or do people suck? "

Dont sign the proof if its wrong.

Anonymous writes "Ok, so I work in a copy and print center in office depot. We have 3 employees who work in the copy and print center, 1 being the manager, and we are all pretty close.
Anyways, I get a customer in one day who wants to order envelopes with their return address printed on them. We go through the process which takes about 5 minutes. I then go over the stock choices and envelope types, such as normal, security, window, double window, etc...
She ends up going with the normal ones, so I ring her up for the 500 envelopes, she signs a proof, and pays the 20ish dollars.
